Oasis’ Liam Gallagher has intervened in the performance of his band Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, joking in classic Gallagher fashion after several years of mocking the institution.
In a series of tweets on “I want to thank everyone who voted for us. It’s truly an honor since I was a little kid singing in the shower. I dreamed of one day being in the RnR hall of fame. It’s true what they say, anything is possible if you have a dream.”
Thus began a series of responses suggesting that perhaps his enthusiasm was in jest, or perhaps not? “No wonder we had to pay them to admit us,” he wrote in response to a fan who said they may not have voted for them. As to whether they would attend or not? “I’m fine, I dreamed about this as a nobody singing in the shower with my hairbrush.”
After today’s addition announcement, one fan called him a “hypocrite.” “I know, what a bastard,” he responded.
When Oasis were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time in 2024, Liam Gallagher had some spicy words to share on “I don’t need a straw award from a nursing home in a cowboy hat.” He also told his fans that they shouldn’t vote because “as much as I appreciate it, it’s all a bunch of nonsense.”
He echoed similar sentiments during a 2024 interview with the Sunday Times, stating: “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favor and fuck off. It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be a part of anything that’s mentally disturbed. Plus, I’ve done more for rock’n’roll than half of those clowns on that forum, so it’s all a load of nonsense.”
Last year, Liam Gallagher once again weighed in on a possible Oasis induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after a fan account tweeted on When another fan asked, “What are you going to do if you win?” he replied, “Obviously, go ahead and say it’s the best thing EVER.”
Oasis’ latest coronation into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame follows a successful reunion tour that began in Cardiff, Wales, and concluded in São Paulo, Brazil, in November 2025.
